The velocity spectra follow power-law scalings, $E(f) \\propto f^{\\alpha}$, with $\\alpha \\approx -0.85$ in the surface flow layer -- matching the Self-Organized Criticality (SOC) model with open boundaries ($\\alpha \\approx -0.95$).
