The molecules are in the lowest electronic and vibrational state, $X^{1}\\Sigma$ ($\\nu=0$). Due to the large intermolecular distance and low filling, dipole-dipole interaction in the nearest-neighbor approximation governs the dynamics of the rotational excitations.
