We illustrate a simple solution to this longstanding puzzle using the Born-Oppenheimer approximation for QCD. Exotic hidden-heavy hadrons are bound states and resonances in potentials that are repulsive at short range and cross a heavy-hadron--pair threshold before approaching it.
