Singpurwalla","submitted_at":"2012-01-05T12:10:05Z","abstract_excerpt":"There is a class of statistical problems that arises in several contexts, the Lattice QCD problem of particle physics being one that has attracted the most attention. In essence, the problem boils down to the estimation of an infinite number of parameters from a finite number of equations, each equation being an infinite sum of exponential functions. By introducing a latent parameter into the QCD system, we are able to identify a pattern which tantamounts to reducing the system to a telescopic series.
