In analogy with $R(D^{(*)})$ observables, we study the observable $R(X_c)=\\frac{\\mathcal{B}(\\bar{B} \\to X_c \\tau^- \\bar{\\nu}_\\tau)}{\\mathcal{B}(\\bar{B} \\to X_c \\ell^- \\bar{\\nu}_\\ell)}$.
