The new ingredient is Symmetric Mass Generation (SMG): symmetry-preserving mass or energy gap can be generated without breaking any symmetry $G$ and without any quadratic mean-field mass deformation as long as $G$ is all perturbative local and nonperturbative global anomaly-free.
