The $\\chi_\\mathrm{c}$ states are reconstructed via their radiative decays $\\chi_\\mathrm{c}$ $\\to$ $\\mathrm{J}/\\psi\\, \\gamma$, with the photons being measured through conversions to e$^+$e$^-$, which allows the two states to be well resolved.
