A perfectly reflecting, accelerating mirror can emit radiation whose frequency spectrum resembles that of Hawking radiation, although this correspondence holds only under certain approximations. Moreover, the standard in-out formulation does not provide a natural notion of the partner modes associated with the Hawking radiation. In this paper, we reformulate the moving mirror model in terms of Rindler/Milne modes.
