Zhang","submitted_at":"2014-05-05T17:07:13Z","abstract_excerpt":"We use the mean-field method, the Quantum Monte-carlo method and the Density matrix renormalization group method to study the trimer superfluid phase and the quantum phase diagram of  the Bose-Hubbard model in an optical lattice, with explicit trimer tunneling term.\n  Theoretically, we derive the explicit trimer hopping terms, such as $a_i^{3\\dagger}a_j^3$, by the Schrieffer-Wolf transformation. In practice, the trimer super\\-fluid described by these terms is driven by photoassociation. The phase transition between the trimer super\\-fluid phase and other phases are also studied.
