However, synchronization of hyperentangled photon pairs requires maintaining correlations simultaneously across multiple degrees of freedom (DOFs). The preservation of polarization and energy-time entanglement in hyperentangled photon pairs is demonstrated using a free-space optical delay line based on nested Herriott cells.
