The parameter $a$ characterizes the boost/rotation of the dual fluid in this holographic setup and is related to the angular velocity in the corresponding limit. We employ two complementary probes, the falling-string and shooting-string descriptions, to compute the stopping distance and the instantaneous energy loss of a light quark moving either transverse or parallel to the rotation axis.
