By combining broadband ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) spectroscopy and DC SQUID magnetometry on mechanically exfoliated micro-flakes with non-local dynamical mean-field theory (DFT+DMFT) calculations, we analyze both long- and short range magnetic order in CrCl$_3$.
