Here we report a detailed high-pressure structural study of AgSbTe2,combining synchrotron X-ray diffraction with density functional theory and molecular dynamics calculations up to 60 GPa. We uncover a pressure-driven transformation from the ambient R-3m phase to a fully disordered cubic Im3m phase, through an extended intermediate amorphous state.
