The experimental spectrum was assigned by vibronic Franck-Condon calculations on quantum chemical models based on relativistic density functional approaches. The shape of the luminescence spectrum of the uranyl tetrachloride complex is determined by symmetrical vibrations and geometrical change upon emission.
