Conventional methods based on the quasi-harmonic approximation (QHA) require phonon spectra at many volume points and are therefore expensive in general. Here we develop an efficient method based on the interpolation of a few ab initio data points for Gibbs free energy evaluation under volume compression. Phonon spectra are calculated only at selected volumes.
