Since neither $f(A)$ nor $f(A)v$ can be computed exactly, we introduce and analyze an inexact Golub-Kahan-Lanczos bidiagonalization procedure, where the inexactness is related to the inaccuracy of the operations $f(A)v$, $f(A)^*v$.
