Herein, a non-standard form of the Hubble law is advocated, with the aim of providing safe grounds on which alternative cosmologies could be developed. Noteworthy, it yields an age-redshift relationship which is consistent with available data. Together with a straightforward analysis of gamma-ray burst counts, it further suggests that the observable Universe has been euclidean and static over the last 12 Gyr.
