Though studied mainly with Resistive Plate Chambers (RPC), studies focusing on Micro-Pattern Gaseous Detector (MPGD)-based sampling elements have shown the potential advantages; they can be operated with environmental friendly gases and reach similar detection efficiency at lower average pad-multiplicity.
