In this work, we evaluate VLMs on the challenging task of identifying ultra-faint dwarf galaxy candidates using multi-panel diagnostic images from survey data. We compare model predictions to human annotations from a large-scale citizen science campaign. We find that zero-shot VLMs closely reproduce aggregate human calibration and perform well on less ambiguous cases.
