D-OMA is based on the concept of distributed large coordinated multipoint transmission-enabled non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) using partially overlapping sub-bands for NOMA clusters. Performance of this scheme is demonstrated in terms of outage capacity for different degrees of overlapping of NOMA sub-bands. D-OMA can also be used for enhanced security provisioning in both uplink and downlink wireless access networks.
