The approach to the construction of SUSY Lagrangians based on the superfield formalism is considered. The minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) is specified. The breakdown of gauge symmetry and Higgs phenomenology within the simplest SUSY extensions of the standard model (SM) are briefly reviewed.
