Rather than realizing simple ordered magnets, members of the alpha,beta,gamma-Li2IrO3 family exhibit fragile and highly anisotropic magnetic behavior, including incommensurate counter-rotating order, strong field sensitivity, and pressure-driven electronic reconstruction.
