A custom-built X-band pulsed EPR spectrometer with AWG and digital IF capability generated by an FPGA was used to control a novel patterned thin film planar superconducting microstrip resonator capable of generating Rabi fields sufficient to achieve 6 ns pi/2 Gaussian pulses using a 100 W solid-state HPA.
