Three-dimensional in situ reconstructions of the austenite microstructure are presented, including the structure and distribution of emergent grain boundaries. After one cycle, the subgrain structure is significantly refined, and heterogeneous {\\Sigma}3 and {\\Sigma}9 grain boundaries emerge.
