We identify a typology of trajectories in agreement with a kinematic \"active Bretherton-Jeffery\" model, featuring an axi-symmetric self-propelled ellipsoid. In particular, we recover the \"swinging\" and \"shear tumbling\" kinematics predicted theoretically by Z\\\"ottl et al.
