As a consequence, we characterize when $\\mathbb{K}[S]$ is nearly Gorenstein in terms of arithmetic properties of the semigroup $S$. Then, we find some bounds for the Cohen-Macaulay type of $\\mathbb{K}[S]$ when it is nearly Gorenstein.
