Here, we address excitations in GNRs with periodic structural wiggles, so-called Chevron GNRs. Based on reflectance difference and high-resolution electron energy loss spectroscopies together with ab-initio simulations, we demonstrate that their excited-state properties are dominated by strongly bound excitons.
