Deforming the isometry group of Minkowski spacetime through the introduction of a minimal length scale $\\ell$ leads to anti de Sitter spacetime with isometry group $SO(2,3)$. Quantum spacetime on scales of the order $\\ell$ therefore carries negative curvature.
