The search is based on a sample of proton-proton collision data collected at $\\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC during 2016$-$2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb$^{-1}$. The top-philic Z' boson is produced in association with a top-antitop quark pair ($\\mathrm{t\\bar{t}}$) and decays into a $\\mathrm{t\\bar{t}}$ pair, as it couples exclusively to top quarks.
