The approach is based on re-sampling the reconstructed signal and the application of a distance measure in the output space which satisfies the condition of quasi-isometry. The quasi-isometry property allows to estimate the reconstruction accuracy from the matching accuracy between the sign sequences resulting from sampling and the re-sampling after reconstruction. This approach is exemplified by means of leaky integrate-and-fire.
