How irreversibility arises in such deterministic, dissipative dynamics remains unclear. Here we show that trajectories remain locally stable, with perturbations decaying rather than growing even in the irreversible regime, ruling out the sustained exponential sensitivity to initial conditions associated with chaotic dynamics.
