In this scenario, we study different types of potentials for the inflaton, discuss their observational consequences, and compare with data. We find that some class of potentials are in good agreement with observation and that the value of the inflaton field can be sub-Planckian. Moreover, we investigate the swampland criteria in this scenario and determine the consistency of the model with the conjectures.
