Despite tremendous improvement in the scalability of POMDP solvers, long-horizon POMDPs remain difficult to solve. To alleviate the difficulty, this paper proposes a new approximate online POMDP solver, called Reference-Based Online POMDP Planning via Rapid State Space Sampling (ROP-RAS3).
