3 MeV proton irradiation at optimal dose of 1×10^16/cm² raises self-field Jc in Hg1223 crystals from 5.5 to 26 MA/cm² at 2 K and keeps it above 0.1 MA/cm² at 77 K, accompanied by a shift in pinning mechanism.
