Our results hint towards an evolving and emergent dark energy behaviour, with negligible presence of dark energy at $z\\gtrsim 1$, at varying significance depending on the data sets combined. In all these reconstructions, the cosmological constant lies outside the $95\\%$ confidence intervals for some redshift ranges. This dark energy behaviour, reconstructed using Crossing Statistics, is in agreement with results from the conventional $w_0$--$w_a$ dark energy equation of state parametrization reported in the DESI Key cosmology paper. Our results add an extensive class of model-agnostic reconstructions with acceptable fits to the data, including models where cosmic acceleration slows down at low redshifts. We also report constraints on $H_0r_d$ from our model-agnostic analysis, independent of the pre-recombination physics.","external_url":"https://arxiv.org/abs/2405.04216","cited_by_count":0,"metadata_source":"pith","metadata_fetched_at":"2026-08-05T02:28:24.338817+00:00","pith_arxiv_id":"2405.04216","created_at":"2026-05-10T14:20:30.967927+00:00","updated_at":"2026-08-05T02:28:24.338817+00:00","title_quality_ok":true,"display_title":"Calderon, et al., DESI 2024: reconstructing dark en- ergy using crossing statistics with DESI DR1 BAO data, JCAP 10 (2024) 048.arXiv:2405.04216,doi:10","render_title":"Calderon, et al., DESI 2024: reconstructing dark en- ergy using crossing statistics with DESI DR1 BAO data, JCAP 10 (2024) 048.arXiv:2405.04216,doi:10"},"hub":{"state":{"work_id":"de89c48c-dc71-4875-8185-bf8fb85b395a","tier":"hub","tier_reason":"10+ Pith inbound or 1,000+ external citations","pith_inbound_count":24,"external_cited_by_count":0,"distinct_field_count":2,"first_pith_cited_at":"2024-02-12T15:29:10+00:00","last_pith_cited_at":"2026-07-07T18:15:25+00:00","author_build_status":"not_needed","summary_status":"needed","contexts_status":"needed","graph_status":"needed","ask_index_status":"not_needed","reader_status":"not_needed","recognition_status":"not_needed","updated_at":"2026-08-05T18:33:33.495577+00:00","tier_text":"hub"},"tier":"hub","role_counts":[{"context_role":"background","n":13},{"context_role":"dataset","n":2},{"context_role":"method","n":1}],"polarity_counts":[{"context_polarity":"background","n":13},{"context_polarity":"use_dataset","n":2},{"context_polarity":"use_method","n":1}],"runs":{},"summary":{},"graph":{},"authors":[]}}
