abstract

The most sensitive experiment to date to search for the muon and electron lepton number violating decay $K^0_L \to \mu^\pm e^\mp$ has detected no events consistent with this process. Based on this result, the 90% confidence level upper limit on the branching fraction is $B(K^0_L \to \mu^\pm e^\mp) < 4.7\times10^{-12}$.

  1. Matter Unification and Lepton Flavour Violation

    hep-ph 2026-03 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Muon-to-electron conversion at Mu2e can probe quark–lepton unification scales up to ~10^4 TeV in the minimal SU(4)_C×SU(2)_L×U(1)_R model, even where rare kaon decays are suppressed by unknown mixing angles.

  2. Features of Charged Lepton Flavor Violation in an $A_4$ Symmetric Neutrino Mass Model

    hep-ph 2025-07 reject novelty 4.0 of 10

A reanalysis of an A4 neutrino mass model concludes meson CLFV decays can be near current bounds while radiative CLFV vanishes, but the radiative amplitude is computed incorrectly.
