We calculate the CP-violating asymmetries A(Lambda_-^0) and A(Xi_-^-) in nonleptonic hyperon decay within the Standard Model using the framework of heavy-baryon chiral perturbation theory (chiPT). We identify those terms that correspond to previous calculations and discover several errors in the existing literature. We present a new result for the lowest-order (in chiPT) contribution of the penguin operator to these asymmetries, as well as an estimate for the uncertainty of our result that is based on the calculation of the leading nonanalytic corrections.

  1. Hyperon-pair spin tomography beyond scalar spin correlations

    hep-ph 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

Scalar Lambda-pair spin correlations leave a continuous density-matrix degeneracy; full tensor tomography is required to claim entanglement, and a ³P₀ benchmark predicts a specific anisotropy pattern.

  2. $B\to K{+}$invisible, dark matter, and $CP$ violation in hyperon decays

    hep-ph 2025-02 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

In a two-Higgs-doublet plus scalar dark matter model, hyperon decay CP asymmetries can reach parts in a thousand, far above the standard model, while still satisfying kaon and dark matter constraints.

  3. New Avenues for $|\Delta B|$ = 2 Processes Beyond Neutron-Antineutron Oscillations

    hep-ph 2025-11 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Lambda-antilambda oscillations are already bounded far more strongly by Super-Kamiokande's pp→K+K+ limit (δmΛ ≲ 10^-32 GeV) than by BESIII's direct search, making dedicated oscillation searches non-competitive in the ...

  4. $|\Delta I|=3/2$ non-leptonic hyperon decays in covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory

    hep-ph 2026-08 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

In covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory, decuplet-baryon contributions with the consistent coupling scheme, plus pion loops, most improve the fit to the |ΔI|=3/2 hyperon decay amplitudes.

  5. Tests of CP symmetry in entangled hyperon anti-hyperon pairs at BESIII

    hep-ex 2025-01 unverdicted novelty 1.0 of 10

A review summarizing progress on CP asymmetry measurements in Lambda, Sigma, and Xi hyperon pairs from BESIII charmonium data.
