The components $\\xi^{v}$ and $\\xi^{u}$ of the separation vector behave as in flat space but the transversal components $\\xi^{x}$ and $\\xi^{y}$ depend nonlinearly on $v$ through the Bessel and Neumann functions, far from the null surface $v = 0$.
