Denote by $B =\\partial \\tilde{M}$ the geodesic boundary of $\\tilde{M}$ and by $\\nu$ the Patterson-Sullivan measure on $X$. In this note we prove that the associated unitary representation of $\\Gamma$ on $L^2(B,\\nu)$ is irreducible.
