We use the equations of motion to develop an analogue of the conformal block expansion for matrix elements and impose crossing symmetry in order to place bounds on their values. The method can be applied to any quantum mechanical system with a local Hamiltonian, and we test it on an anharmonic oscillator model as well as the (1+1)-dimensional transverse field Ising model (TFIM). For the anharmonic oscillator model we show that a small number of cros","authors_text":"Colin Oscar Nancarrow, Yuan Xin","cross_cats":["cond-mat.stat-mech","quant-ph"],"headline":"","license":"http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/","primary_cat":"hep-th","submitted_at":"2022-11-07T19:07:29Z","title":"Bootstrapping the gap in quantum spin systems"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"2211.03819","kind":"arxiv","version":2},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:b07ede0ac4cd38e3f325097f9e764f9c617885b16efb72cf5e866dd4a021fdad","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T06:04:01Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"00b298e3d21a9cacb1e2f85ccf31f3125e65392f908ff480da7d88cb087bc690","cross_cats_sorted":["cond-mat.stat-mech","quant-ph"],"license":"http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/","primary_cat":"hep-th","submitted_at":"2022-11-07T19:07:29Z","title_canon_sha256":"5d15522b460e36395f1e3ddb9122c845e29cec6d80c2f183dcc9275428349af5"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"2211.03819","kind":"arxiv","version":2}},"canonical_sha256":"ee1de3de26426e8cdfa3fa04970e334990d920c8fc03f60b2dba07a14581ab3a","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"ee1de3de26426e8cdfa3fa04970e334990d920c8fc03f60b2dba07a14581ab3a","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T06:04:01.460628Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T06:04:01.460628Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"27ZuO5zVzn6DFAX1uCJp0OEdnWcnPLa/c8l++PfW/Mjhw45xnmeK1CAbzB3VQ+0Xipr0bqWqEseJBBFX+2JiAA==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T06:04:01.461121Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"2211.03819","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":2}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:b07ede0ac4cd38e3f325097f9e764f9c617885b16efb72cf5e866dd4a021fdad","sha256:db60dceed8d65cd9e4911866859f6004092f552c025b9883a866b0297538c780"],"state_sha256":"cb091fb723e25add85fc84c76d3c3ae26a9917c990e0f3a6e30b476aecd5f71a"}
