Recent developments in the determination of the hadronic form factors for $\\tau \\rightarrow \\ell \\pi \\pi$ ($\\ell = e, \\mu$) decays are incorporated in the analysis. The above issues are exemplified by considering a Higgs-like boson with lepton flavour violating couplings.
