The connected monodromy field of $A$ is the minimal field over which the images of all the $\\ell$-adic torsion representations have connected Zariski closure. We show that for all even $g \\geq 4$, there exist infinitely many geometrically nonisogenous abelian varieties $A$ over $\\mathbb{Q}$ of dimension $g$ where the connected monodromy field is strictly larger than the field of definition of the endomorphisms of $A$. Our construction arises from explicit families of hyperelliptic Jacobians with definite quaternionic multiplication.","authors_text":"Davide Lombardo, John Voight, Victoria Cantoral-Farf\\'an","cross_cats":["math.AG"],"headline":"","license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"math.NT","submitted_at":"2023-03-01T20:15:12Z","title":"Monodromy groups of Jacobians with definite quaternionic multiplication"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"2303.00804","kind":"arxiv","version":2},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:8b778023e1ace7300a32531defac6950d8adc8e2ac1788e011841637142a5ee8","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-05T06:42:04Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"df2f63da72cbe06b14f5d0ab01632505853f83cce4d7d046b22071a1c2e33547","cross_cats_sorted":["math.AG"],"license":"http://arxiv.org/licenses/nonexclusive-distrib/1.0/","primary_cat":"math.NT","submitted_at":"2023-03-01T20:15:12Z","title_canon_sha256":"a70bbdf0ffe714fd2b8ea2e33a4952212741930a29d01465ecbaf24ba0fddd13"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"2303.00804","kind":"arxiv","version":2}},"canonical_sha256":"f03955878be335437316f69a858021b09119528b5f2f0fabbeffd2710c12679e","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"f03955878be335437316f69a858021b09119528b5f2f0fabbeffd2710c12679e","first_computed_at":"2026-07-05T06:42:04.187774Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-05T06:42:04.187774Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"nx4Kpwvtkq3BPOOKDqupMEXh2TTtbQ9v9RjIRJAEZBdd/qzjblqAwM6KPeGdZOvb93VBiRI66cH5CTUblCEBBA==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-05T06:42:04.188164Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"2303.00804","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":2}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:8b778023e1ace7300a32531defac6950d8adc8e2ac1788e011841637142a5ee8","sha256:9f4de0f883e1e1e575d91dbe96d95a151a87e0fe36bca9b9c30fce9723f0942d"],"state_sha256":"786483946050f498a10b91618968b10500a1699dbd9c33bf609ce5f74d0b1d6f"}
