A phenomenological Lagrangian is proposed followed by a computation of the effective Hamiltonian of neutrino propagation in matter for mass eigenstates. It is shown that the simplest dimension 4 Lorentz violation parameter can decrease DUNE sensitivity to neutrino mass hierarchy.
