At finite $q$, these modes can be computed by classical spectral methods based on truncating the boundary value problem. We show that this truncation admits a natural analytic interpretation in terms of quantum Seiberg--Witten periods in the Nekrasov--Shatashvili limit, with the spectral condition organised as an instanton expansion around small values of the counting parameter.
