The two main mechanisms resulting in the eruption of series of CMEs are sympathetic eruptions and homologous eruptions. The interaction of successive CMEs has been observed remotely in coronagraphs and heliospheric imagers, and inferred from in situ measurements. ","authors_text":"Charles J.
