In this paper photocathode growth through molecular beam epitaxy is introduced as a promising technique to obtain robust, highly efficient alkali-antimonide based photocathodes. Recent research shows that the quantum efficiency of photocathodes can be significantly enhanced through control of the photocathode crystallinity.
