The graphene covered Cu surface had (103) facets parallel to the Cu[010] direction, on which triangular patterns were formed. In contrast, the bare Cu surface showed no facets. Post-growth thermal annealing in an ultra-high vacuum induced surface changes on the Cu(103) facets.
