In fact, they equivalently produce braiding operators on Hopf algebras satisfying the braid equation, thus generalize the construction of Yang-Baxter operators by Lu, Yan and Zhu from braiding operators on groups, and also by Angiono, Galindo and Vendramin from cocommutative Hopf braces.
