Specifically, we use operator space techniques and an extrapolation argument to prove that every 2-isometry T : Lp(M) to Lp(N) between arbitrary noncommutative Lp-spaces can always be written in the form T(phi^{1/p}) = w (phi circ pi^{-1} circ E)^{1/p}, for phi in M_*^+. Here pi is a normal *-isomorphism from M onto the von Neumann subalgebra pi(M) of N, w is a partial isometry in N, and E is a normal conditional expectation from N onto pi(M).","authors_text":"David Sherman, Marius Junge, Zhong-Jin Ruan","cross_cats":[],"headline":"","license":"","primary_cat":"math.OA","submitted_at":"2004-02-11T20:06:10Z","title":"A classification for 2-isometries of noncommutative Lp-spaces"},"references":{"count":0,"internal_anchors":0,"resolved_work":0,"sample":[],"snapshot_sha256":"258153158e38e3291e3d48162225fcdb2d5a3ed65a07baac614ab91432fd4f57"},"source":{"id":"math/0402181","kind":"arxiv","version":1},"verdict":{"created_at":null,"id":null,"model_set":{},"one_line_summary":"","pipeline_version":null,"pith_extraction_headline":"","strongest_claim":"","weakest_assumption":""}},"verdict_id":null}}],"author_attestations":[],"timestamp_anchors":[],"storage_attestations":[],"citation_signatures":[],"replication_records":[],"corrections":[],"mirror_hints":[],"record_created":{"event_id":"sha256:ab6645575694aa049ac7cb3efc018e880800be774c95efafe17a9e994a301433","target":"record","created_at":"2026-07-04T14:38:14Z","signer":{"key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","signer_id":"pith.science","signer_type":"pith_registry"},"payload":{"attestation_state":"computed","canonical_record":{"metadata":{"abstract_canon_sha256":"87d5a456baf59f0c6bb3c6c52497ac7de05b146aa49c6b26c4a46ae9018a70b7","cross_cats_sorted":[],"license":"","primary_cat":"math.OA","submitted_at":"2004-02-11T20:06:10Z","title_canon_sha256":"e0a9d7bdfa4995cfa260d2e99e137492ba1bf89f2c9b30afd6e56fa16dd24a88"},"schema_version":"1.0","source":{"id":"math/0402181","kind":"arxiv","version":1}},"canonical_sha256":"079a48431ae24a4784146a9f0576e7d206aa40bed8313b8d657291a30d923ac0","receipt":{"algorithm":"ed25519","builder_version":"pith-number-builder-2026-05-17-v1","canonical_sha256":"079a48431ae24a4784146a9f0576e7d206aa40bed8313b8d657291a30d923ac0","first_computed_at":"2026-07-04T14:38:14.054578Z","key_id":"pith-v1-2026-05","kind":"pith_receipt","last_reissued_at":"2026-07-04T14:38:14.054578Z","public_key_fingerprint":"8d4b5ee74e4693bcd1df2446408b0d54","receipt_version":"0.3","signature_b64":"ZvaJU/ejdZH8OUAQNihspwhoRhwLsOq8Y+dToPfulOwQo4aAnBBoM/O3j2bLXT4rPlve5IyZZd7A+pm4XdNfDA==","signature_status":"signed_v1","signed_at":"2026-07-04T14:38:14.055002Z","signed_message":"canonical_sha256_bytes"},"source_id":"math/0402181","source_kind":"arxiv","source_version":1}}},"equivocations":[],"invalid_events":[],"applied_event_ids":["sha256:ab6645575694aa049ac7cb3efc018e880800be774c95efafe17a9e994a301433","sha256:d3184224a446d8d7b47cd9f62ae8e0027a0d9520a3946d890a6693b82fafd274"],"state_sha256":"fb6a03819106cd6f02e9c2ce9fabc0df4fffa68269b361bdcd89952ffb3c6d63"}
