The key idea is that the $n$-dimensional hypersurface, $\\Gamma \\subset \\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$, is embedded in a polyhedral domain in $\\mathbb R^{n+1}$ consisting of a union, $\\mathcal{T}_h$, of $(n+1)$-simplices.
